Enhanced Women’s Political Representation and Decision-making |

This project aims to enhance the capacities of women by developing their leadership, negotiation, networking, planning and other relevant skills in support of their participation in decision-making processes, and entry into governance institutions as well as to sensitize the key stakeholder groups including political parties, press, civil society and the general public, on the key issues related to women’s political empowerment.This will be achieved through the identification of pilot districts, design of training materials, recruitment of trainers and roll-out of training programmes for potential women leaders, development of communication strategies including training of media, community workshops, and production of documentary on women's role in politics.
Objectives
- To enhance ability of potential women leaders at the local level by developing their leadership, negotiation, networking, planning and other relevant skills in support of their participation in decision-making processes, and entry into governance institutions.
- Increase awareness among important stakeholder groups including political parties, press, civil society and the general public, on the key issues related to women’s political empowerment.
- Conduct stock-taking exercise on the research and advocacy work undertaken and assist the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Development to develop an action plan for further research and advocacy programmes if required.
