Early Recovery and Social Cohesion in Eastern Sri Lanka

The proposed project will aim to achieve early recovery and social transformation outcomes in a politically charged environment in the Eastern districts of Trincomalee, Batticoloa and Ampara. The approach taken will involve addressing essential livelihood and protection needs especially of women, while integrating activities promoting: relationship-building across communities, breaking down prejudices and misperceptions towards the ‘other,’ inclusion of marginalized groups and transforming structural inequalities.  

Objectives

  • To facilitate socio-economic recovery and social cohesion for resettled/voluntarily relocated, host and other vulnerable communities in Northern Sri Lanka.
