Support to the Establishment of a Volunteer Information and Coordination Centre (VOICE) in Sri Lanka |

VOICE serves to promote and support volunteerism in Sri Lanka. It aims to forge partnerships for volunteerism and serve as a common house for all those who have a stake in the promotion of volunteerism in Sri Lanka, while operating within the framework of Government policies and under the guidance of the Ministry responsible for Voluntary Social Service Organizations. The process is spearheaded by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Social Services and Social Welfare, which is the focal point for issues related to voluntary social service organizations in Sri Lanka.
Objectives
- To develop a supportive national infrastructure for volunteerism
- To develop and implement a resources mobilisation strategy that will ensure the long-term sustainability of VOICE
- To facilitate, harness and promote volunteerism in all spheres of development work
- To explore ways to promote volunteerism as a catalyst for social cohesion in Sri Lanka
