Strengthening Plan Implementation Capability-Ministry of Plan Implementation |

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Plan Implementation for improved efficiency and productivity of the public, private and civil society sectors in achieving national development priorities including MDGs. The project assists the Ministry of Plan Implementation to assume its role and to quickly grow and evolve into a center of excellence. The MPI would also serve as the nerve centre of the Government in coordination, performance and results monitoring and evaluation, trouble shooting and reporting. This would finally ensure that policies, programmes and plans are implemented in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The project would support the Ministry of Plan Implementation upgrade the Development Aid Databse (DAD), to monitor Non-ODA related development activities in the country. This new data base is called Electronic-Development Information Management System (E-DIMS).
Objectives
- Support to adopt results-based monitoring system in the Government to ensure efficient and effective implementation of policies and programmes.
- Strengthen the Performance Review Unit (PRU) with state-of-the-art modern technology to provide on-line and real-time development information to policy makers to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Harmonize different data bases used for aid and project management, towards effective use of aid resources.
