Institutional Strengthening for Phasing out Ozone Depleting Substances

This project extends institutional support to the National Ozone Office for two additional years of operation, 2009 - 2010.  The project will allow the National Ozone Unit at Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to continue to plan, organize, direct and coordinate all activities required for the implementation of Sri Lanka’s strategy in all areas related to the phase-out of Ozone Depleting Substances under the Montreal Protocol.

Objectives

  • Implementation of Montreal Protocol in Sri Lanka.
  • Implementation of the Incentive Programme for Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration End Users under Refrigerant Management Plan (RMP).
  • Implementation of projects under the National Compliance Action Plan.
  • Awareness creation among general public.
