UNDP Sri Lanka Staffing
UNDP can hire staff through the following types of contract:
- 1. Fixed-term Appointment
- 2. Temporary Appointment
- 3. Service Contracts (SC)
- 4. Special Service Agreements (SSA)
The contracts in detail:
Fixed Term Appointment: Staff members are appointed for requirements of one year or more. Salaries are determined on local scales based on best prevailing local conditions. For international staff members the salary is based on the international civil service pay-scale.
Temporary Appointment: Staff members are hired for activities of a finite and short duration not exceeding 364 calendar days.
Service Contracts: The appointments are governed by explicit terms of service. The duration of the contract must be more than 6 months.
Special Service Agreements: These agreements are for appointing individuals for a specific task or service.

This number includes the UNDSS local & international staff as well. The UNDSS local fixed-term contracts are issued by UNDP.
